About Our Board
Comprised of teachers, parents, and community friends, our Board of Directors is dedicated to holistic, Waldorf-influenced education that engages the whole child. The Board provides guidance and leadership in promoting, supporting and carrying out the mission and long-term vision of Singing Cedars School, working collaboratively with the Faculty and school community. The Board also oversees the following committees: Finance/Development, Outreach & Communication, Buildings & Grounds, Health & Safety.

Alea Lobdell
Alea holds a bachelor’s degree from Prescott College in Human Development with an emphasis in Women & Children’s Health Studies and is a Certified Massage Therapist. She has worked as a Birth Doula and Birth Photographer for 11 years. She has worked for the Maharishi Foundation in customer service for 6 years and for the storefront of Overland Sheepskin for 2 years. She has led childbirth education workshops, as well as birth story gathering circles locally in Fairfield. She has worked in admissions at Maharishi University, and has assisted in restaurant management. All three of her children have attended Singing Cedars over the span of 13 years. She feels passionate about Waldorf education and loves hiking, yoga and pilates, all forms of art, reading, writing, baking with her children, visiting Arizona (her second home where her Mom lives) and all traveling.
Elizabeth Westgerdes
Elizabeth Westgerdes is a wife and mom who loves children, loves living in a small community, and wants to see the community flourish. She has worked in IT for 12 years as a Business Analyst in Clinical Trials, Finance, and Agrotech industries. As a Senior Business Analyst at FoodChain ID, she works closely with senior leadership on change management, human-centered design, and strategic visioning for multiple software applications. She works to balance the needs of 2000+ active users, who are generating +14M of recurring revenue, against regulatory changes, evolving executive direction, and development costs. She works in a fluid, group decision-making dynamic, managing a backlog of hundreds of requirements and coordinating communication with dozens of stakeholders. She is excited to bring change management and communication skills to Singing Cedars to help it fulfill its mission. She has a BA with honors from the University of Chicago and an MA from Williams College. Her hobbies are art and gardening.
